NIA SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS INITIATIVE
THE C-NIL
In collaboration with our sustainability partners,we are committed to the zero carbon emission initiative in our community in support of the fight aganst climate change. Our partners have plegded to reduce carbon footprints to the barest minimum particularly in areas of travels with options such as energy efficient modes of transportation. Air travel will focus on eliminating a large percentage of aviation emissions by improving fuel efficiency , using sustainable aviation fuel and the development of new technology.
INNOVATES
NIA has created a platform to feature and support start up's and emerging companies in her biennial conference and exhibition. Startups with innovative solutions that will improve and disrupt aviation and air mobility development will be showcased to investors and buyers via an innovation pavillion and a startup pitch.
ACTIVATE GREEN
In order to make a difference at NIA, we are committed to working towards a more environmentally friendly event by ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns. At our exhibitions and events we encourage a reduce, reuse and recycle principle with simple actions like waste reduction, water and energy conservation and sustainable procurement decisions.
EQUALIZER
As part of our commitment towards the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development on gender equality, NIA has created a female grant to encourage more women aviators and to address gender disparity in the aviation industry especially at the technical skills and top leadership level. This is also in alignment with the IATA 25 by 2025 global initiative for the aviation sector to improve female representation in the industry by 25%, or up to a minimum of 25% by 2025.
